Swan Valley FC Junior Academy 

​Academy Goals:

  • Learn safe lifting techniques, gym etiquette and sports specific training

  • Educate young athletes about nutrition and recovery specific to football (AFL)

  • Create confidence to perform resistance training in the gym setting

  • Improve strength, cardiovascular endurance, agility and reduce the risk of injury

The basics:​

  • Document advising teens/parents on nutrition, recovery and exercise principles

  • Education on safe lifting, mobility and recovery

  • Resistance training (weight lifting), speed, agility, plyometrics and endurance

  • Education and training for injury prevention

  • 2 sessions available per week (hybrid of gym and field work) for 20 weeks

  • Testing (illinois agility & Yo-Yo)

  • Access to TrainHeroic App (online PT and programming) to track progress, program and exercise routine (valued at approx. $35.00 per week)
